As a Corrections Refrigeration Mechanic Trade Instructor, you will perform the following duties:

• Training Delivery:Teach refrigeration practices, methods, and procedures in classroom and work settings
• Work Supervision:Direct inmate work crews and inspect assigned refrigeration tasks
• Documentation Tracking:Maintain records of inmate progress, attendance, and assignments
• Material Management:Issue and inventory tools and materials used in training and work assignments
• Tool Control:Conduct searches to account for all tools and materials
• Resource Planning:Determine needed materials and submit purchase requests when required

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full‑time employment, 40 hours per week
• Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday.
• This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
• Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $53,036.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Five years of experience in the repair and servicing of refrigeration systems or air conditioning systems; or
• Completion of an approved apprenticeship in the refrigeration or air conditioning mechanic trade; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes one year of journey level work in the refrigeration or air conditioning mechanic trade.

Special Requirement:

• This position requires possession of an active Universal Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certificate issued by an approved provider.

Other Requirements:

• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.
