Innovative Refrigeration Systems, Inc. is seeking a Service Technician to service industrial refrigeration equipment nationwide in North America. The role emphasizes repair, maintenance, and support for systems powered by ammonia and other refrigerants.

The candidate should have HVAC training, EPA certification, and hands-on experience with compressors and electrical controls. The position requires physical stamina and the ability to pass background checks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; HVAC tech school preferred.
• EPA Universal certification or ability to obtain.
• Experience servicing commercial/industrial refrigeration systems.
• Troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
• Must pass drug, felony, and MVR screenings.

Responsibilities

• Provide repair and maintenance support for industrial refrigeration systems 100 HP–5,000 HP.
• Perform routine and emergency service on ammonia and Freon equipment.
• Use knowledge of compressors, electrical troubleshooting, and control/alarm systems for inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and governing requirements.

Service Technician

Job Role:

A Service Technician is responsible for the repair, maintenance, & support of industrial refrigeration equipment for our valued customers. A working knowledge of commercial & industrial refrigeration and electrical controls is required to be successful in this role.

Schedule

• Monday - Friday (45-60 hours per week)

Key Duties

• Provide repair and maintenance support for industrial refrigeration systems ranging from 100 HP to 5,000 HP.
• Perform routine and emergency service on ammonia and Freon refrigeration equipment.
• Use knowledge of screw and reciprocating compressors, electrical troubleshooting, and various control/alarm systems to perform inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Ensure strict adherence to all work safety policies, procedures, and governing requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; HVAC technical school preferred.
• Universal EPA certification or ability to obtain.
• Experience servicing commercial and/or industrial refrigeration systems.
• Skilled in troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
• Must pass pre-employment and regular drug screenings, felony screenings, and motor vehicle record checks.
• Typical work schedule is Monday-Friday, with technicians home every night.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly, and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to stand, bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying conditions (heat, cold, dust, noise).
• Must have the physical stamina to perform repetitive motions and remain on feet for most of the shift.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination sufficient to operate tools accurately and safely.

Preferences

• 3-5 years of experience with ammonia refrigeration systems in an industrial setting.
• Knowledge of PLC systems and controls.
• Motor alignment experience.
• RETA 1 & 2 certification.
