Job summary

Innovative Refrigeration Systems, Inc. in Boston, MA, is seeking a Service Technician to repair and maintain industrial refrigeration and process cooling systems, including ammonia and CO₂ equipment, with regional overnight travel in the Northeast.

This role supports food & beverage, cold storage, pharmaceutical, and other critical industries across North America. You will work on 100 HP to 5,000 HP systems, perform routine and emergency service, and ensure safety policies are followed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in supermarket/rack/industrial refrigeration systems.
• Knowledge of controls and electric high and low voltage.
• Universal EPA certification required.
• ROTA 1&2 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain industrial refrigeration systems for food & beverage and refrigerated storage (100 HP–5,000 HP).
• Perform routine and emergency service on ammonia and Freon equipment.
• Troubleshoot screw and reciprocating compressors and control/alarm systems; conduct inspections.
• Adhere to all safety policies and governing requirements.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, regional overnight travel (50-60 hours per week)

Key Duties

• Responsible for refrigeration repair and maintenance support to industrial accounts in food and beverage and refrigerated storage equipment ranging from 100 HP to 5,000 HP
• Perform routine and emergency service on ammonia and Freon refrigeration equipment commonly found in industrial applications
• Use working knowledge of screw and reciprocal compressors, electrical troubleshooting all common types of ammonia central systems, & control/alarm systems to perform inspections and preventative maintenance as required
• Demonstrate an understanding and adherence to all work safety policies, procedures and governing requirements

Requirements
