Job summary

Innovative Refrigeration Systems, Inc. seeks a Service Technician to repair, maintain, and support industrial refrigeration equipment for a diverse customer base across North America.

A strong working knowledge of commercial and industrial refrigeration and electrical controls is required. This role involves routine and emergency service on ammonia and Freon systems, with a Monday–Friday schedule and significant overtime potential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; HVAC training preferred.
• EPA Universal certification or ability to obtain.
• Experience servicing commercial/industrial refrigeration systems.
• Pass pre-employment and regular drug screenings, felony screenings, and MVR checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide repair and maintenance support for industrial refrigeration systems ranging from 100 HP to 5,000 HP.
• Perform routine and emergency service on ammonia and Freon refrigeration equipment.
• Use knowledge of screw and reciprocating compressors, electrical troubleshooting, and control/alarm systems to inspect and maintain equipment.
• Ensure adherence to all safety policies, procedures, and regulations.

Service Technician

Job Role

A Service Technician is responsible for the repair, maintenance & support of industrial refrigeration equipment for our valued customers. A working knowledge of commercial & industrial refrigeration and electrical controls is required to be successful in this role.

Schedule

Monday - Friday (45-60 hours per week)

Pay

$30-50 per hour, dependent on experience

Key Duties

• Provide repair and maintenance support for industrial refrigeration systems ranging from 100 HP to 5,000 HP.
• Perform routine and emergency service on ammonia and Freon refrigeration equipment.
• Use knowledge of screw and reciprocating compressors, electrical troubleshooting, and various control/alarm systems to perform inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Ensure strict adherence to all work safety policies, procedures, and governing requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; HVAC technical school preferred.
• Universal EPA certification or ability to obtain.
• Experience servicing commercial and/or industrial refrigeration systems.
• Skilled in troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
• Must pass pre-employment and regular drug screenings, felony screenings, and motor vehicle record checks.
• Typical work schedule is Monday-Friday, with technicians home every night.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly, and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to stand, bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying conditions (heat, cold, dust, noise).
• Must have the physical stamina to perform repetitive motions and remain on feet for most of the shift.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination sufficient to operate tools accurately and safely.

Preferences

• 3-5 years of experience with ammonia refrigeration systems in an industrial setting.
• Knowledge of PLC systems and controls.
• Motor alignment experience.
• RETA 1 & 2 certification.
