Job summary

Innovative Refrigeration Systems, Inc. is seeking a Service Technician to repair, maintain, and support industrial refrigeration equipment. The role covers 100 HP to 5,000 HP systems, including ammonia and Freon, with a focus on electrical and control system troubleshooting.

Typical schedule is Monday–Friday, 45–60 hours weekly, with home nights. A high school diploma, EPA certification, and experience in industrial refrigeration are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; HVAC technical school preferred.
• Universal EPA certification or ability to obtain.
• Experience servicing commercial and/or industrial refrigeration systems.
• Troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and control systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide repair and maintenance support for industrial refrigeration systems ranging from 100 HP to 5,000 HP.
• Perform routine and emergency service on ammonia and Freon refrigeration equipment.
• Use knowledge of screw and reciprocating compressors, electrical troubleshooting, and various control/alarm systems to perform inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Ensure strict adherence to all work safety policies, procedures, and governing requirements.

Job Role: A Service Technician is responsible for the repair, maintenance, & support of industrial refrigeration equipment for our valued customers. A working knowledge of commercial & industrial refrigeration and electrical controls is required to be successful in this role.

Key Duties:

• Provide repair and maintenance support for industrial refrigeration systems ranging from 100 HP to 5,000 HP.
• Perform routine and emergency service on ammonia and Freon refrigeration equipment.
• Use knowledge of screw and reciprocating compressors, electrical troubleshooting, and various control/alarm systems to perform inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Ensure strict adherence to all work safety policies, procedures, and governing requirements.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED; HVAC technical school preferred.
• Universal EPA certification or ability to obtain.
• Experience servicing commercial and/or industrial refrigeration systems.
• Skilled in troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
• Must pass pre-employment and regular drug screenings, felony screenings, and motor vehicle record checks.
• Typical work schedule is Monday–Friday, with technicians home every night.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly, and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to stand, bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying conditions (heat, cold, dust, noise).
• Must have the physical stamina to perform repetitive motions and remain on feet for most of the shift.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination sufficient to operate tools accurately and safely.

Preferences:

• 3–5 years of experience with ammonia refrigeration systems in an industrial setting.
• Knowledge of PLC systems and controls.
• RETA 1 & 2 certification.
