Job summary

J.B. Hunt in South Gate, California seeks a Refrigeration Technician to maintain, service and repair refrigerated trailers, containers, and chassis. You will troubleshoot issues, complete fleet maintenance processes, and ensure units meet J.B. Hunt specifications at all times.

Shifts may vary, including nights and weekends with overtime; this is a full-time role with benefits and opportunities for growth within the Technician Career Advancement program.

Qualifications

  • 18 years of age with 1-2 years of semi-trailer maintenance experience or equivalent.
  • EPA section 608 certification Tech 2.
  • DOT/FHWA inspections experience with air brakes.
  • Willingness to work varied shifts including nights/weekends.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents in English.

Responsibilities

  • Perform standard maintenance, repairs, and part replacements on trailers and related equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair air brake systems; complete work orders and adhere to SRT/warranty guidelines.
  • Operate cutting torch and welding tools for minor frame repairs.
  • Maintain safe shop practices and professional communication with customers.

Job Title:Refrigeration TechnicianDepartment:MaintenanceCountry:United States of AmericaState/Province:CaliforniaCity:South GateFull/Part Time:Full timeJob Summary:Under routine supervision, this position is responsible for performing standard level maintenance, service, and repair of J.B. Hunt specialized trailers/containers (dry van, refrigerated, and temperature controlled), chassis, and other equipment. Technicians must be able to troubleshoot issues, complete all fleet maintenance processes, and ensure that units meet J.B. Hunt specifications at all times. This position has the possibility to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends in addition to overtime; it requires full-time attendance.Job Description:Key Responsibilities:Demonstrate standard knowledge of preventative maintenance, replacement of parts/components, and more difficult repairs as they pertain to specialized trailer maintenance, air brake systems, and FHWA InspectionsTroubleshoot and repair specialized trailer equipment; work independently and seek assistance as neededParticipate in Original Equipment Manufacturing training for OE repairsUnderstand and effectively follow all shop safety proceduresMaintain professional communication with J.B.
