Job summary

CKP Heating and Cooling, a North Canton-based family-owned HVAC contractor, seeks an experienced Refrigeration Technician to join our commercial service team. You will install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain commercial refrigeration equipment including walk-ins, reach-ins, ice machines, and beverage systems across Northeast Ohio.

You’ll service a variety of customers such as restaurants, hotels, nursing homes and warehouses, and you will explain problems and options clearly while maintaining

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of commercial refrigeration experience.
• EPA 608 Universal Certification required.
• RETA certification a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting skills on refrigeration systems and controls.
• Brazing and soldering experience.
• Ability to regularly move, lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Must pass a background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Travel to commercial service calls every day as scheduled.
• Diagnose and repair walk-in coolers and freezers, reach-ins, ice machines and beverage systems.
• Troubleshoot refrigeration circuits, compressors, metering devices, defrost systems and controls.
• Perform preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and product loss.
• Recover, evacuate and charge refrigerant following EPA rules.
• Braise, solder and replace refrigeration piping and components.
• Respond to emergency calls when a cooler or freezer goes down.
• Explain problems and repair options clearly to customers.
• Recommend and sell maintenance agreements to current customers.
• Keep accurate service records, parts usage and truck inventory.
• Be on time and stick to a daily schedule with multiple appointments in different locations.

This is a full-time, direct-hire role at CKP Heating and Cooling.

CKP Heating and Cooling is a family-owned commercial and residential HVAC contractor based in North Canton. Our team is built on respect, teamwork, integrity and craftsmanship. We have a lot of work and are hiring an experienced Refrigeration Technician to join our growing commercial service team. You will install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain commercial refrigeration equipment, including walk-in coolers and freezers, reach-in cases, ice machines, beer and beverage systems, restaurant refrigeration, condensing units, evaporators, compressors, expansion valves and refrigeration controls. You’ll serve customers across Northeast Ohio, including restaurants, hotels, nursing homes, warehouses, manufacturing plants, travel centers and other commercial buildings.

Job Responsibilities:

• Travel to commercial service calls every day as scheduled.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 – $50.00 per hour, based on experience

Requirements

• 3–5+ years of commercial refrigeration experience preferred
• EPA 608 Universal Certification required
• RETA certification a plus
• Strong troubleshooting skills on refrigeration systems and controls
• Brazing and soldering experience
• Ability to regularly move, lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds
• Comfortable working in freezers, on rooftops and in tight spaces
• Detail-oriented and focused on customer service
