Job summary

RJ-Staffing is seeking an experienced Commercial Refrigeration Technician with strong supermarket rack systems expertise. You will diagnose and repair rack systems, perform compressor work, evacuations, charging and leak repairs. Independent lead on service calls is required.

Candidates should have 5+ years of hands-on refrigeration experience, including low/high temperature racks, walk-ins, and display cases. Valid license and strong electrical/mechanical troubleshooting skills are essential.

Location: Rockland County, NY

Salary: $35.00-$50.00+ per hour w/ overtime. Some flex on pay-rate considered based on candidate experience.

Benefits: Company truck, tools, paid time off, stable full-time work, and support from an established commercial refrigeration company. Additional cash stipend for benefits considered.

Work Schedule: 40+ hours per week, will require some occasional flexibility

Overview:

Client Company is hiring an experienced commercial refrigeration technician with strong, hands-on supermarket refrigeration experience. This position is for a technician who can independently diagnose rack-system problems, perform major repairs, and take responsibility for getting systems operating correctly.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair supermarket refrigeration rack systems and connected cases, coolers, and
• Perform compressor replacements, system evacuation and charging, leak detection and repair, and
• Troubleshoot expansion valves, solenoids, defrost systems, evaporator and condenser fan motors, pressure controls, sensors, and refrigeration controls.
• Identify the actual cause of failures and complete reliable repairs instead of temporary fixes.
• Lead service calls independently and determine the correct repairs and parts needed to restore operation.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on commercial refrigeration experience, including extensive work on supermarket parallel rack systems.
• Strong experience with low- and medium-temperature racks, walk-in coolers and freezers, reach-ins, display cases, evaporators, and condensers.
• Ability to independently troubleshoot complex refrigeration problems involving compressors, oil controls, safeties, contactors, valves, controls, and electrical components. high discharge temperature, and compressor failures.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability.
• Able to work independently and manage commercial service calls from diagnosis through completion.
