Join a well-established grocery retail company, B&R Stores, Inc., serving Nebraska, western Iowa, and northeast Missouri. We take pride in keeping our stores running smoothly for our customers and associates. We’re looking for a skilled Refrigeration & HVAC Technician who is ready to be the go-to expert for keeping our refrigeration systems in peak condition.

In this role, you’ll maintain and repair commercial refrigeration and HVAC equipment across multiple store locations. You’ll be the first point of contact for refrigeration issues—troubleshooting problems, performing repairs, and coordinating with outside vendors when needed. You’ll also lead our preventative maintenance program to keep systems operating efficiently year-round.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair refrigeration cases, units, and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot refrigeration/HVAC issues and determine when outside vendors are needed.
• Oversee and perform preventative maintenance across multiple store locations.
• Complete basic plumbing and electrical tasks; handle Freon recapture in compliance with EPA regulations.
• Install refrigeration and related equipment as needed.
• Keep accurate service records, repair logs, and vendor billing documentation.
• Schedule and prioritize store visits based on maintenance requests.
• Follow all company safety standards, procedures, and policies.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in commercial refrigeration and/or HVAC service preferred.
• EPA certification for refrigerant handling (Type I & II or Universal) strongly preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with knowledge of electrical and plumbing basics.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. and operate standard maintenance tools and equipment.
• Excellent organization and record-keeping skills.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to travel between locations in company vehicle.
• Travel required to company locations in Nebraska.
