Job summary

Tyson Foods is seeking a Refrigeration Maintenance Technician in Hutchinson, KS to ensure safe, efficient operation of the plant’s refrigeration, boiler, air compressors and hot water systems. You will perform daily preventive maintenance, inspections and repairs while adhering to ammonia safety protocols.

The role requires experience with ammonia systems, PSM and the ability to travel for training. The candidate should be able to obtain SCBA certification and pass IIAR modules as needed.

Qualifications

• PSM experience preferred.
• Experience with Anhydrous Ammonia systems, both mechanical and electrical repairs.
• Willingness to obtain SCBA certification and use chemical suits in emergencies.
• Willing to travel for training 1–2 trips per year.
• Ability to pass IIAR ammonia refrigeration training.
• Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain plant refrigeration, boiler, air compressor and hot water systems.
• Perform daily preventive maintenance, inspections, testing and repairs.
• Follow safety procedures for ammonia handling and comply with OSHA and EPA.
• Participate as Emergency Response Team member and document procedures.
• Communicate technically via written instructions and reports.
