Job summary

Tyson Foods, Inc. is seeking a refrigeration maintenance technician to assist the supervisor in coordinating daily plant maintenance tasks on third shift.

The role focuses on ensuring safe operation of equipment and minimizing downtime by performing preventive maintenance and emergency repairs. Responsibilities include troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, interacting with team members, and supporting a fast-paced production environment.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work overtime and weekends.
• Some departments are hot/wet or cold/wet.
• Must be able to push/pull/lift over 40 lbs and climb ladders above 10 feet.
• High school diploma or industrial maintenance training or equivalent experience.
• Must be able to use SCBA equipment.
• 1 year refrigeration experience or enrollment in a refrigeration program/diploma.

This position is responsible for assisting the Supervisor in coordination of the daily responsibilities of the department by ensuring the Supervisor's instructions are communicated effectively to the team members and efficiently. Provide maintenance support with moderate supervision to ensure the safe and effective operation of equipment and team. Perform routine preventative maintenance repairs on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic plant equipment. Conduct emergency mechanical or electrical repairs as needed. Troubleshoot issues related to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment. Safely apply knowledge and troubleshooting skills to all assigned production equipment. Effectively interact with all plant personnel to accomplish plant and individual goals. Minimize downtime due to equipment failure.

REQUIREMENTS

• Applicants will be considered for any refrigeration maintenance Tech position open. If an applicant meets the minimum requirements for consideration, they may be contacted for an interview.
• Applicants must be willing to work overtime and weekends.
• Some departments are hot/wet, and some are cold/wet.
• Position requires pushing, pulling, or lifting over 40 lbs. and climbing ladders above 10 feet.
• Requires high school connect 4 education, and/or industrial maintenance training or equivalent experience.
• Requires using SCBA equipment. All other duties assigned by management.
• Must have 1 year refrigeration experience or Education: Industrial refrigeration diploma or currently enrolled in a technical school (in lieu or of experience).
• Preferred: Additional experience beyond the minimum requirement.
