Job summary

Tyson Foods is seeking a Refrigeration Mechanic to maintain refrigeration, boiler systems, air compressors and related plant utilities across the facility. The role includes preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work in processing or slaughter areas, with emphasis on safety and physical readiness.

The ideal candidate has at least 6 months of maintenance experience in an industrial setting and may have ammonia/refrigeration knowledge.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of continuous maintenance experience with a single employer within the last 12 months.
• Experience in industrial maintenance or technical field preferred.
• Ammonia/refrigeration experience preferred.
• Willingness to work the B shift (overnight) and pass physical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain refrigeration, boiler systems, air compressors, flotation/main lift stations, and hot water systems across the plant.
• Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot/repair all systems.
• Position may operate in Processing or Slaughter areas.

Job Details:Candidates will apply to Refrigeration mechanic position. This position is to maintain general mechanical maintenance to all refrigeration, boiler systems, air compressor, flotation/main lift stations and hot water systems in the facility: All maintenance activities on the plant site including but not limited to, Preventive Maintenance, and the ability to troubleshoot and repair all systems required.Refrigeration Mechanic position could work in any area of the plant, Processing or Slaughter.The successful candidate(s)must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation. Standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting and reaching are required. Duties could include standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, and reaching; climbing up and down stairs and ladders; Lifting is required in many areas (up to 70 pounds). Successful completion of a respiratory physical will be necessary. These positions work in a cold, damp or hot and humid environment.Education: Prefer High School Graduate or equivalent. College or technical school a plus.EXPERIENCE: Experience within industrial maintenance field or technical related background. Ammonia and refrigeration experience or education preferred.REQUIREMENTS: Must have a minimum of (6) months of continuous work experience in maintenance with a single employer within the last (12) months or currently attending/graduated from an industrial maintenance training program in the last 3 years.Must be available to work C shift (overnight).
