Job summary

Wegmans is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to service refrigeration and HVAC across our stores and facilities. You will collaborate with a team to perform repairs and preventative maintenance, following safety protocols and Wegmans standards.

Qualifications include 5+ years of experience, EPA Universal Certification, and proficiency with building management systems. This role requires hands-on problem solving, welding and plumbing skills, and the ability to work on rooftops and in freezers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years related work experience
• Technical training through apprenticeship, RSES, trade school, or equivalent
• EPA Universal Certification
• Proficient with a laptop and building management systems
• Knowledge of welding and plumbing
• Experience with supermarket/restaurant refrigeration equipment and codes
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical systems independently

Responsibilities

• Perform basic repairs and preventive maintenance on refrigeration and HVAC equipment
• Identify and diagnose issues with refrigeration and HVAC controls systems; repair self-contained cases and rooftop units; knowledge of glycol and DX systems
• Work effectively with a team to complete tasks on time
• Communicate with team, supervisors, and customers and assess downtime
• Create and maintain preventive maintenance records and truck inventory
• Deliver excellent service while upholding Wegmans standards of quality and safety
