Job summary

A family-owned mechanical contractor in St. Louis is seeking a Refrigeration Engineer to design and develop refrigeration systems for various commercial and industrial applications. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Refrigeration design experience in the commercial construction industry is a plus.
• Familiar with industry standards and codes (IIAR, ASHRAE, IECC, IMC).
• Proficient in load calculation concepts and software.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Refrigeration systems for grocery, commercial, and industrial buildings.
• Prepare refrigeration drawings, equipment selections, and system layouts based on project requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering supervisor, project managers, and field staff.
• Prepare load calculations, energy code compliance, and system sizing.
• Support preconstruction with budgeting, system selection, and value engineering.
• Participate in field walks, construction support, and final system review.
