Job summary

Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, is seeking an Experienced Refrigeration Engineer for our Food & Beverage group. The role supports projects at Madison, WI and other locations, with travel and a valid driver's license required.

The ideal candidate will have a BS in Mechanical Engineering, 6+ years of experience, and strong skills in ammonia refrigeration design, hydronic systems, and P&ID development, plus client-facing project work and mentoring

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree (or higher) in mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university AND at least six years of relevant experience.
• PE license is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conducting job-site surveys.
• Calculating refrigeration requirements for process cooling and building loads.
• Assisting in the development of project documentation including drawings, P&ID's, equipment schedules, details, specifications, and scope of work.
• Selecting and applying system equipment to new and existing systems.
• Coordinating technical specifications, delivery requirements, and quotation parameters with outside equipment suppliers, subcontractors, and clients.

Overview

Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, is experiencing growth and has a full-time position available for an Experienced Refrigeration Engineer to join our Food & Beverage group. This opportunity is available at one of the following office locations: St. Louis, MO; Denver, CO; Bloomington, MN; Madison, WI; or West Allis, WI.

Responsibilities

• Conducting job-site surveys
• Calculating refrigeration requirements for process cooling and building loads
• Assisting in the development of project documentation including drawings, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's), equipment schedules, details, specifications, and scope of work
• Selecting and applying system equipment to new and existing systems
• Coordinating technical specifications, delivery requirements, and quotation parameters with outside equipment suppliers, subcontractors, and clients

A valid driver's license and some travel (~20-30%) will be required.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree (or higher) in mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university AND at least six years of relevant experience.
• PE license is strongly preferred.

The ideal candidate will have

• Experience with ammonia refrigeration design
• Experience with food plant project design
• Experience with chilled water/hydronic design
• Experience developing P&IDs
• Familiarity with managing project invoices
• Experience working directly with clients including marketing to obtain future work
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
• Experience mentoring less experienced staff
