Job summary

Albertsons Companies is seeking a Refrigeration Construction Tech to install, retrofit and service refrigeration systems across multiple store facilities. You will troubleshoot, read blueprints, and perform start-ups and adjustments to ensure reliable operation.

The role requires a valid drivers license, EPA 608 certification, and strong reading/writing of manuals and work orders. Overtime and emergency calls may be required; strong safety practices are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid drivers license required.
• EPA Section 608 Universal Certification required.
• Computer literacy is required.
• High School diploma or equivalent; vocational-technical preferred.
• Willingness to work day or night shifts, overtime, and emergencies.
• Ability to respond to direct and radio requests promptly.
• Maintain neat uniform and PPE as required.
• Read and understand manuals, prints, and work orders.
• Able to perform system startups and adjust set points.

Responsibilities

• Install, retrofit and build refrigeration equipment and systems.
• Troubleshoot refrigeration systems, wiring, controls, piping and valves.
• Pipe fitting with proper slope and installation of components.
• Braze copper and dissimilar metals with oxygen acetylene torch.
• Recover refrigerant, pump down, evacuate and leak test systems.
• Perform electrical diagnosis and wiring tasks.
• Interpret blueprints for piping, cases and walk-in coils.
• Install drain lines for cases and walk-in evaporator coils.
• Charge systems with refrigerant and set superheat as required.
• Adhere to local/state codes and manufacturer specs.
• Operate scissor lift and forklift safely as needed.
• Order materials and write purchase orders; data entry for refrigerant reports.
• Coordinate with office managers, store associates and contractors.
• Maintain clean, safe work environment in mechanical areas and service vehicle.
