The Weir Group is seeking a Refractory Technician for the Newton, MS facility. This onsite, 2nd shift role focuses on maintaining and repairing ladles and vessels, relining with multi‑component materials, and handling refractory materials with an overhead crane.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and emphasizes safety, quality, and active participation in lean initiatives. Training is provided, with physical duties including lifting up to 50 lbs and working in a hot environment.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Good reading, writing, mathematical and verbal skills.
• No prior experience required; on‑the‑job training provided.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain and repair ladles and vessels.
• Reline AOD vessels and ladles with multi‑component materials.
• Operate overhead crane to move ladles and refractory materials.
• Assist in safety, health and environmental programs and data collection.
