Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a Group Fitness Instructor to lead small group training classes, applying YMCA core values and ensuring participant safety.

You will plan fitness programs, monitor progress, and adapt to different levels while participating in staff trainings. A nationally recognized fitness certification and CPR/First Aid are required; experience with diverse populations is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• National Personal Training certification or ACE/AFAA/NASM.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead small group training classes with proper exercise techniques.
• Promote YMCA core values in all activities.
• Plan and develop fitness programs for classes.
• Observe progress and adapt to different fitness levels.
• Ensure participant safety and report incidents.
• Prepare room/equipment before class and maintain safety.
• Attend staff trainings and follow YMCA policies.
