Job summary

Quality Roasting operates a high-quality, all-natural soybean oil refinery in a SQF-certified facility. As a self-motivated, safety-minded team member with mechanical aptitude, you will monitor, operate, troubleshoot, test product quality, and load outbound bulk tankers.

You will report to the Refinery and Bottling Plant Manager, work a 7-on/7-off cycle on 5:00 am - 5:00 pm shifts, and participate in safety training while upholding SQF procedures.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 1-2 years in manufacturing/refinery or similar; food processing experience is a plus.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving mindset.
  • Basic understanding of refinery processes and equipment preferred.
  • Willingness to work 12-hour shifts and collaborate with a team.
  • Desire to learn and develop technical skills while upholding safety.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor PLC and refinery equipment according to SQF procedures.
  • Adjust operations to optimize production efficiency.
  • Maintain sanitary schedules per Quality Roasting standards.
  • Assist QA Technician with basic quality tests.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections.
  • Troubleshoot refinery processes with Lead Refinery Technicians.
  • Report malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors.
  • Load outbound bulk tankers and ensure proper records.
  • Follow SQF-based Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Participate in safety training and adhere to protocols.
  • Collaborate with team for smooth operations.

Position Summary

You can take pride in operating equipment that produces high quality, all-natural food grade soybean oil in our Safe Quality Food (SQF) Certified facility. As a self- motivated, safety-minded, reliable team member with a strong mechanical aptitude, you have the drive to learn and excel at monitoring, operating, and troubleshooting our refinery process, testing and ensuring product quality, and loading outbound bulk tankers.

  • 1 opening on Days: 5:00 am - 5:00 pm, work 7 days, off 7 days

Essential Job Functions
  • Monitor PLC and operations of refinery equipment and processes according to established SQF procedures
  • Make necessary adjustments to optimize production efficiency
  • Maintain designated sanitary schedule to Quality Roasting standards
  • Work with the Quality Assurance Technician to assist with basic quality control tests to ensure product meets specifications
  • Learn to perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure equipment is functioning properly
  • Learn to troubleshoot our refinery process by assisting Lead Refinery Technicians in resolving any production issues that may occur
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the Lead Refinery Technician and/or Refinery Plant Manager
  • Load outbound bulk tankers
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices based on our SQF Programs
  • Complete required paperwork and maintain accurate records of production data and quality test results
  • Participate in safety training and adhere to all safety protocols
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth and efficient operation
  • Perform other tasks, as assigned
Required Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing, refinery operations or similar industry experience; experience in food processing is a plus
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Basic understanding of refinery processes and equipment is a plus
  • Availability to work 12-hour shifts
  • Desire and ability to work independently and contribute to a strong team environment
  • Desire to learn and develop technical skills
  • Reliable team member with a strong commitment to safety and quality standards
  • Dependable and self-motivated
  • Good verbal and written communications
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts
  • Ability to frequently bend, squat, climb, sit, stand, walk, handle objects, reach above shoulder level, use fine finger movements and push/pull, carry/lift light to heavy loads up to 50 lbs.
