Job summary

GFL Environmental Services is seeking a warehouse-handler to support loading/unloading, staging, and housekeeping at an active refinery site. The role involves following safety practices, operating forklifts, and ensuring accurate shipping/receiving documentation and communication of operational issues.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and at least one year in a plant or truck unloading/loading environment, with rotating 12-hour shifts and weekend coverage.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of warehouse/industrial material handling and safety practices.
• Understanding of basic shipping/receiving documentation.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one year of plant or truck unloading/loading experience.
• Training on material handling equipment operation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with product loading/unloading, staging, and general housekeeping.
• Follow safe work practices and site traffic controls.
• Use basic tools: pipe wrench, crowbar, pliers, screwdrivers, etc.
• Calculate levels in tanks using basic math.
• Monitor loading/unloading operations while pumps move product.
• Monitor incoming trucks bringing in used motor oil, antifreeze, and oily water.
• Monitor outgoing trucks taking out asphalt and wastewater.
• Complete basic shipping/receiving documentation and communicate issues.
• Operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklift) as trained and qualified.
• Adhere to regulatory expectations including OSHA 29 standards.
