Job summary

Chevron Corporation is seeking a Lead Security Operations Coordinator at the El Segundo refinery. You will lead a security team responsible for facility protection, access control, and communications, while ensuring MTSA and other regulatory compliance.

The role involves coordinating with federal and local regulators, internal stakeholders, and incident management teams to safeguard assets and personnel. Strong leadership and regulatory experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in security management or a related field.
• Experience in high-risk industrial, military, or large-scale petrochemical plant security.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing without authority skills.
• Experience with emergency response and ICS.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the facility security team, access control and surveillance systems.
• Ensure regulatory compliance (MTSA, TWIC, DHS TSA, CBP FTZ, state lands).
• Support refinery emergency response and business continuity plans; participate in incident management.
• Conduct incident investigations and threat assessments as required.
• Coordinate with regulators and community stakeholders for safe operations.
• Collaborate with internal teams to achieve refinery and business outcomes.
• Identify security improvements leveraging technology with standardization in mind.
• Manage the refinery security and communications contracts and budget.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in security management, criminal justice/criminology, emergency management or related discipline
