Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Company LP in Texas City, TX is seeking a Process Controls Technician for the Galveston Bay Refinery. You will design, implement, and maintain control strategies, collaborate with operations and maintenance, and support safe, reliable refinery operation.

Experience with Honeywell Experion PKS, TDC 3000, Emerson DeltaV, and PLC/SCADA systems is preferred, along with strong troubleshooting and documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent with five years of relevant experience.
• Two years or more of experience with industrial control systems.
• Ability to respond to emergencies during off-hours.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Designs, implements, and maintains process control strategies to optimize unit performance.
• Troubleshoots control system issues across hardware, software, and networks.
• Collaborates with operations, engineering and maintenance teams for operational challenges.
• Maintains and supports control platforms (Honeywell Experion PKS, TDC 3000, DeltaV, Ovation, ABB Symphony Plus).
• Develops and maintains control narratives, logic diagrams and system documentation.
• Manages controls-related projects, including scope, vendor coordination and commissioning.
• Develops operator graphics and HMIs for DCS/SIS/PLC/SCADA.
