Job summary

Petro Star Inc., a division of ASRC, is seeking a Refinery Operator Trainee in Alaska. The hourly role involves monitoring, controlling, and ensuring safe refinery operation while participating in a one-year training program that advances from Trainee 1 to Operator 3 opportunities.

The position follows a 12-hour shift pattern on a 7-on/7-off schedule with on-shift Lead Operator oversight. Candidates should demonstrate safety commitment, teamwork, and willingness to participate in maintenance

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Driver’s License; CDL not required.
• Minimum two years of any type of work experience.
• Proven commitment to Incident and Injury Free Operations with a safety track record.
• Ability to effectively utilize computer tools.
• Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control refinery operations ensuring compliance with safety and policies.
• Take corrective actions to maintain safe operating conditions.
• Participate in the trainee program progressing from Trainee 1 to Operator 3.
• Cover shifts on a 12-hour, 7 days on/7 days off schedule with the team.
• Assist with turnarounds and maintenance projects as needed.
• Support on-shift Lead Operator and safety initiatives.
