Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Valid driver's license.
• Basic math, reading, writing, computer, and verbal skills.
• Willingness to perform fire and emergency response activities.
• Willingness to work a rotating shift schedule and overtime as required by business needs.
• Be fit to perform the essential functions of the job.
• Adherence to a strict drug and alcohol policy.

Responsibilities

• Live and demonstrate MPC's core values.
• Wear all protective equipment including a self-contained breathing apparatus along with the ability to participate in emergency response activities.
• Learn refining process operations and qualify on process jobs.
• Make periodic rounds per shift, monitor units, isolate equipment, collect stream samples and write work permits.
• Understand refining process operations, tank farm product movements, and qualify on tank farm jobs, including monitoring tank levels, transfers, and writing permits.
• Detect and respond to process upsets and emergencies with response activities such as firefighting and evacuation.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company procedures, including waste handling and disposal.
• Maintain assigned working locations in a neat and orderly condition.
• Complete other tasks within the scope of duties as requested.
