Job summary

Chevron’s El Segundo Refinery is hiring Maintenance Trainees in multiple crafts as part of a comprehensive 3-year training program. Entry-level roles involve hands-on work in machining, metals, electrical and instrumentation, with safety and teamwork emphasized.

Candidates will undergo on-the-job training and classroom instruction, with opportunities to rotate across shops and processing units while learning maintenance and reliability best practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Two years of any work experience; military experience counts.
• Willing to work overtime and weekends; safety sensitive position.

Responsibilities

• Machinist Trainee tasks: operate machine shop equipment, maintain/repair pumps, compressors, turbines, gearboxes.
• Metals Craft Trainee tasks: install/maintain piping systems, welds, boiler/tank construction and repair.
• Instrument/Electrician Trainee tasks: install and maintain process control and electrical systems up to 115kV.
• Instrument/Analyzer Trainee tasks: maintain online analytical systems and perform root-cause analysis.
