Job summary

Chevron is hiring an Experienced Maintenance Machinist for the El Segundo, California Refinery. The role involves maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and construction tasks in field and shop settings, requiring journey-level machinist skills and the ability to work in a 24/7 refinery.

You will operate steam and mechanical drive systems, repair process equipment such as valves and pumps, and use hand, power, and precision tools.

Qualifications

Requires journey-level Millwright experience in refining or petrochemical settings.
Able to read mechanical drawings and blueprints.
Willing to work overtime, nights, weekends, and on call.
Must have valid driver’s license and be able to drive routinely.

Responsibilities

Maintain and repair steam and mechanical drive systems such as steam turbines and electric motors.
Maintain and repair process equipment such as valves, pumps, compressors.
Safely use hand, power, and precision tools; perform craft computations and use a computer.
Troubleshoot, perform preventive/predictive/corrective maintenance on machinery.
Disassemble, repair, assemble, and install equipment and machinery as required.
Read mechanical drawings and blueprints; work in process plant, shop, and off-plot environments.
Plan and organize own work; work independently or with a team; manage resources wisely.
Uphold safety and incident-free operations; support health, safety, and environment policies.
