Job summary

PBF Energy Inc. (Torrance Refining Company) in Torrance, CA is seeking a Lab Superintendent to lead the refinery laboratory operations, overseeing both salaried personnel and hourly technicians who perform analytical testing seven days a week.

You will establish expectations, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, manage data integrity programs, and coordinate with Operations, Technical, Economics & Planning, and Product Quality to support daily operations and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of related industrial laboratory experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field.
• Supervisory experience in a union environment preferred.
• Familiarity with process safety, environmental regulations, and refinery economics.

Responsibilities

• Leads the refinery laboratory operation, including salaried and hourly staff.
• Establishes expectations, priorities, and performance objectives.
• Ensures safety, compliance, and data integrity across laboratory processes.
• Oversees quality documentation and adherence to customer/specifications.
• Coordinates with Operations, Technical, Economics & Planning, and Product Quality.
