Job summary

PBF Energy Toledo Refinery is seeking a Sr. Chemist to lead analytical testing and troubleshoot refinery processes. You will manage instrumentation calibration, maintenance programs, and QC procedures across multiple methods and instruments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of refinery or petrochemical experience with at least 2 years laboratory experience.
• Familiarity with industrial process safety, environment regulations, work practices, and compliance strategies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and provide analytical testing and troubleshooting support of refinery processes and laboratory operations.
• Manage Analytical Instrumentation and Preventative Maintenance program.
• Manage Analytical Instrumentation Calibration program per ASTM, refinery and regulatory requirements.
• Manage statistical quality control program for various methods and instrumentation.
• Investigate, procure, install and commission new analytical instrumentation as needed.
• Perform or Coordinate vendor repair of assigned analytical instrumentation.
• Develop procedures and provide training to chemists/technicians on equipment and procedures as assigned.
• Provide non-routine testing support to various departments supporting refinery projects and operation.
• Develop procedures and methods to accommodate refinery issues including outsourcing and monitoring progress.
• Provide analysis and reports for completed support work.

Sr. Chemist PBF Energy Inc. (NYSE:PBF) is one of the largest independent refiners in North America, operating through its subsidiaries, oil refineries and related facilities. We are seeking a talented Sr. Chemist to join our team as a pivotal member that would play a key role here at PBF Energy.

This role would be located in our Toledo Refinery in Oregon OH.

Job Qualifications

• 5+years of refinery or petrochemical experience with at least 2 years laboratory experience.
• Familiarity with industrial process safety, environment regulations, work practices, and compliance strategies.
• Knowledge of basic refinery processes, reliability principles, product planning and scheduling.
