Job summary

Shell in Texas is seeking a Chemical Laboratory Technician to perform laboratory tests on chemical products and process streams, ensuring compliance with specifications and protocols. The role includes documenting results in both paper and electronic systems, maintaining equipment, and contributing to housekeeping and safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or an associate degree in science with at least two years of experience, preferably in refinery, petrochemical, and/or compliance lab environments.
• Must be 18 years or older and legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a TWIC credential.
• Pre-employment checks include background, drug, medical, and reference checks (hair drug testing).
• Willingness to work a modified rotating 12-hour shift schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests on chemical products, process streams, and outfall samples to verify adherence to specifications and controls.
• Document all tests in hard-copy and electronic systems.
• Conduct routine maintenance on testing equipment and maintain housekeeping standards.
• Interpret, record, and report data, and take corrective actions per protocols.
• Prepare equipment and instrumentation for maintenance and train/assist team members as needed.
