Job summary

Valero is offering an on-site Refinery Accounting Internship at the San Antonio Headquarters. The role provides hands-on experience applying accounting concepts to develop core competencies for a potential full-time opportunity at a Valero refinery.

Major duties include assisting in expense close, analyzing financial results with SAP BW, and preparing data for internal metrics. Must be a Bachelor's student in Accounting with 3.0+ GPA and able to work 40 hours for 12 weeks in Summer 2027.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting with Aug 2027–May 2029 graduation.
• Available to work 40 hours for 12 weeks in Summer 2027.
• GPA 3.0 or higher preferred.
• Strong communication skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the monthly operating expense close process for a refinery.
• Learn to utilize SAP BW and other data reporting tools to analyze financial results.
• Assist in other projects focused on a detailed aspect of Valero’s financial results.
• Learn to format and compile data for internal metrics.
• Follow safety rules and procedures as set forth by the Company.
• Preparation of operating and capital expense accruals and balance sheet reconciliations.
