Job description

**Job Description:**

This position demonstrates consistent application of knowledge and skills to deliver appropriate, safe, efficient, and cost-effective pharmaceutical care within the scope of their assigned practice. The role involves patient care and developing professional relationships within a multidisciplinary team.

**Work Schedule and Location:**

This is a fully remote position working Monday - Friday. Applicants must be licensed in CO or MT to qualify.

**Essential Functions:**

  1. Review patients' medication orders for allergy interactions, duplication of therapy, appropriateness, and drug interactions. Make evidence-based interventions to optimize medication use, ensuring therapies are safe, appropriate, and cost-effective, and medications are accurately dispensed.
  2. Oversee and participate in ensuring medications are prepared, delivered timely, stored securely, and are stable and suitable for workflow.
  3. Provide counseling to patients, promoting medication education and adherence, ensuring respectful and professional service.
  4. Complete regulatory and compliance training, maintain clear documentation, and stay compliant with laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  5. Supervise and direct activities of interns, technicians, and support staff as needed. Provide clinical consultation and clarification to health professionals.
  6. Proactively solve problems related to equipment, maintenance, drug availability, staffing, and patient care concerns.
  7. Identify areas for improvement in processes and safety hazards, taking appropriate actions. Contribute ideas and feedback in departmental meetings.
  8. Support organizational directives and leadership initiatives, including clinical, compliance, operational, and customer service goals.

**Qualifications:**

Minimum:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited institution (education verified).
  • License to practice pharmacy and dispense controlled substances in the state of practice.
  • Knowledge of relevant state and federal regulations.
  • Effective communication, management, and project skills.
  • Immunization certification if applicable.

Preferred:

  • Experience in an integrated healthcare system.
  • Board Certification.
  • Health System Residency.

**Physical Requirements:**

  • Visual acuity for reading labels, documents, and monitors.
  • Verbal communication with providers, colleagues, and patients.
  • Manual dexterity for manipulating supplies and equipment, including computer use.

**Location:** Supply Chain Center, Midvale, Utah

**Scheduled Weekly Hours:** 0 (hourly rate $59.86 - $87.98, dependent on experience)
