Job description

**Job Description:**

This position demonstrates consistent application of knowledge and skills to deliver appropriate, safe, efficient, and cost-effective pharmaceutical care within the scope of their assigned practice. The role involves patient care and the development of professional relationships within a multidisciplinary team.

**Work Schedule and Location:**

This position works regular clinical hours, Monday - Friday. It is a fully remote position. Applicants must be licensed in CO or MT to qualify.

**Essential Functions:**

  1. Review patients' medication orders for allergy interactions, duplication, appropriateness, and drug interactions. Make evidence-based interventions to optimize medication use, ensuring therapies are safe, appropriate, and cost-effective, and medications are accurately dispensed.
  2. Oversee and participate in ensuring medications are prepared, delivered timely, stored securely, and maintained for stability and workflow efficiency.
  3. Provide counseling to patients, promote medication education and adherence, and ensure respectful, professional service.
  4. Complete regulatory and compliance training, document requirements clearly, and stay informed of laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  5. Supervise and direct activities of interns, technicians, and support staff. Provide clinical consultation and clarification to healthcare professionals.
  6. Proactively address problems related to equipment, maintenance, drug availability, staffing, and patient care concerns.
  7. Identify areas for process improvement and safety hazards, and participate in departmental meetings with feedback and ideas.
  8. Support organizational directives and initiatives, including clinical, compliance, business operations, and customer service.
  9. Assist in leadership initiatives at local and enterprise levels.

**Qualifications:**

Minimum:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited institution (education verified).
  • License to practice pharmacy and dispense controlled substances in the state of practice.
  • Current knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
  • Effective communication, people management, and project management skills.
  • Immunization certification if applicable.

Preferred:

  • Experience in an integrated healthcare system.
  • Board Certification.
  • Health System Residency.

**Physical Requirements:**

  • Visual acuity for reading, monitoring, and assessing needs.
  • Verbal communication with providers, colleagues, and patients.
  • Manual dexterity for handling supplies and equipment, including frequent computer use.

**Location:** Supply Chain Center, Midvale, Utah

**Scheduled Weekly Hours:** 0 (hourly range: $59.86 - $87.98, dependent on experience)
