Job summary

Labcorp in Tampa, FL is seeking a Reference Test Clerk to support specimen processing and testing across the laboratory, ensuring accurate results and timely turnaround.

The role requires a high school diploma and at least a few months of specimen processing or medical lab experience; you will work a 3:00 am–11:30 am shift Tue–Sat with rotating weekends, collaborating with teams to resolve issues.

• Perform sample sorting, racking, and retrieval.

LabCorp is seeking a Reference Test Clerk to join our team in Tampa, FL.

Work Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday 3:00 am to 11:30 am with rotating weekend.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for various analysis and testing
• Research, troubleshoot and resolve customer and specimen problems
• Send test requests to proper location and release test results
• Assist clients with any specimen related requests or inquiries
• Process specimens to be sent out to additional facilities
• Provide support to various areas of the laboratory
• Perform sample sorting, racking and retrieving
• Prepare record logs in a timely and efficient manner
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• 3 months or more of specimen processing experience
• 3 months or more of medical or laboratory experience

• Comfortability with handling biological specimens
• Ability to accurately identify specimens
• Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
• Ability to work in a fast paced production environment and meet established turn-around times
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
