Job summary

Labcorp, a global leader in laboratory services, seeks a Technologist to join our Tampa, FL team. The role schedule is Tue-Sat, 9am-5:30pm, supporting high-volume clinical testing with rigorous quality controls and safety practices.

You will perform routine and complex procedures, operate analysers, monitor instrumentation, and ensure accurate results while maintaining compliance with SOPs and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• Florida MT License (Chemistry MT FL) per state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate PPE.

LabCorp is seeking a *Technologist * to join our team in Tampa, FL.

Work Schedule: Tuesday- Saturday 9am-530pm

Job Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor\'s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
• Chemistry MT FL License

Preferred Qualifications

• 3 months or more of clinical laboratory testing experience
• ASCP or AMT certification

Additional Job Standards

• In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirements
• Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
• Experience working in a high volume laboratory environment
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems
• High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs

Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
