Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent)
• Associates Degree or Certificate preferred
• One year of office experience in healthcare setting preferred
• Two years in medical/dental front office with insurance referrals/authorizations preferred
• Bilingual English/Spanish required at level 9
• ALTA score of 9 qualifies for bilingual differential compensation
• Knowledge of medical terminology required
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Manage referral work queues daily to ensure timely processing
• Assist with patient referrals to internal/external facilities
• Assist with patient insurance authorization
• Assist with appointment setup as needed
• Coordinate follow up between referral source and patient
• Ensure chart notes and follow up documentation are linked to referral
• Provide translated educational materials and directions to patients
• Process incoming correspondence and respond to calls/emails/faxes
• Perform other duties as assigned

Position Highlights:

• 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week)
• $18.75-$22.97/hour DOE with the ability to go higher for highly experienced candidates

What You’ll Do:

• Manages work queues regarding referral activity on a daily basis to ensure timely processing and/or completion
• Assists with patient referrals for additional services needed with internal and external medical facilities
• Assists with patient insurance authorization
• Assists with appointment setup as needed
• Coordinates follow up between referral source and patient
• Ensures chart notes and follow up documentation is linked to referral
• Provides translated educational materials and directions to patients when necessary
• Processes incoming correspondence and responds to calls, emails, and faxes
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
• Associates Degree or Certificate from an accredited technical school preferred
• One year's experience working in an office setting, preferably a medical or dental office
• Two year's experience working in a medical and/or dental front office setting, with insurance referrals and authorizations preferred
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) required at a level 9
• This position is eligible for Bilingual Differential Compensation when an ALTA score of 9 is achieved.
• Knowledge of or ability to learn medical terminology required
• Ability to prioritize work, handle a variety of tasks simultaneously and complete projects in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
