Job summary

Qualifications

• One year of experience as Medical Receptionist or Referral Coordinator in a primary care setting.
• Data entry experience with a practice management system.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

• Spanish-speaking preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule referral appointments for all center patients.
• Verify insurance eligibility using portals.
• Complete required referral forms.
• Provide directions to referral appointments as needed.
• Call and send reminder letters for future appointments.
• Contact patients to remind them the business day before appointments.
• Call referral sites to confirm if appointment occurred; re-initiate if not.
• Obtain results not in EMR by contacting specialists or facilities.
• Enter referral data into EMR with time, date, and location.
• Scan specialist reports into EMR and track all referrals.
