Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 1–2 years related experience and/or training.
• Successful completion of a Medical Assistant or LPN program preferred.
• Current Medical Assistant Registry or Certification, or LPN license preferred (in good standing, MI).
• Knowledge of CPT/ICD-9 coding and medical terminology helpful.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate referral activity and scheduling between patient, physician, specialists, and insurers.
• Manage EHR referral/work queues according to office/provider preferences.
• Obtain accurate billing and demographic information; ensure prior authorization when required.
• Communicate delays/denials and participate in case management meetings.
• Support check-in/check-out for Digestive Health where assigned.
