• Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule diagnostic procedures in a high-volume call center environment.
• Process patient referrals through Athena in the central referral management system.
• Receive, organize, and manage incoming referrals.
• Facilitate collection of missing medical and demographic information.
• Obtain authorizations as needed.
• Coordinate scheduling with specialties.
• Monitor referral status, insurance verification, pre-certification, and authorizations.
• Enter referral information accurately into the EMR.
• Notify specialty practice staff of referrals awaiting scheduling.
• Provide timely customer service to patient, hospital, and provider inquiries and complaints.
• Communicate with clinic staff by telephone to support information gathering and preauthorization.
• Coordinate with the Pre-Service Unit to schedule outpatient radiology procedures promptly.
• Schedule simple outpatient radiology procedures at White River Health as needed.
• Work with team to achieve department and hospital customer service goals.
• Participate in orientation, training, in-service activities, huddles, and monthly unit meetings.
