Trinity Health Of New England Medical Group is seeking a Referrals Representative to join our team. The role focuses on patient scheduling, registration, insurance verification, and coordination of referrals and prior authorizations to support efficient practice operations.

You will manage specialty referrals, assist with billing, and provide clerical support to providers and staff in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Epic EMR or similar systems.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and patient billing is preferred.
• Experience verifying insurance and coordinating referrals.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Processes and maintains the referrals workflow and prescreening for completeness and urgency.
• Schedule patient appointments and coordinate complex specialty referrals.
• Register patients and verify demographic and insurance information.
• Obtain prior authorizations and pre-certifications as required.
• Collect copays and reconcile daily cash transactions.
• Document patient information accurately in the medical record.
• Schedule procedures and testing as per protocols.

Trinity Health Of New England Medical Group is looking for a Referrals Representative join our team

The Referrals Representative serves as a key member of the healthcare team, ensuring a seamless patient experience. Responsibilities include patient scheduling, registration, insurance verification, referral coordination, prior authorizations, collections, and providing clerical support to providers and staff. This role is instrumental in managing specialty referrals and ensuring efficient practice operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Processes and maintains the electronic Epic Referrals Work queue prescreening for completeness of information, urgency, and other designated criteria.
• Schedule patient appointments and coordinate complex specialty referral appointments.
• Register patients and verify demographic and insurance information.
• Obtain prior authorizations and pre-certifications as required.
• Collect copays and reconcile daily cash transactions.
• Document accurate patient information and communications in the medical record.
• Schedule hospital procedures, testing, and specialty appointments according to established protocols.
• Resolve patient concerns professionally and efficiently.
• Cross-cover other practice functions as needed to support team operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework in medical or administrative fields preferred.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a medical office, healthcare scheduling, or billing environment required.
• Previous experience with Epic EMR strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, referrals, and patient billing preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows-based applications.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
