Job summary

Tenet Physician Resources in Tucson, AZ is seeking a non-exempt office professional to handle patient referrals for our medical offices in the market. This role coordinates scheduling and helps patients navigate insurance resources.

You will support HIPAA confidentiality, process referrals, obtain pre-authorizations, and assist with chart updates in our electronic system. A high school diploma and about a year of relevant experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent working knowledge.
• One year direct patient experience in medical insurance or healthcare industry.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to and supports the mission, purpose, and policies of Tenet Physician Resources.
• Adheres to HIPAA Compliance Plan and Privacy Standards.
• Supports Compliance Program by understanding Code of Conduct and reporting issues.
• Process patient referrals for practices in the market.
• Facilitate orders to outside facilities.
• Coordinate scheduling of office visits for referred patients.
• Assist patients in finding resources that accept various insurances.
• Obtain pre-authorization from payers and assist with medication approvals.
• Log daily status and update patient charts.
• Set up referring providers, payers, and chart mergers in the EHR.
