Job summary

Adventist Health Hanford is seeking a Referral Coordinator to manage incoming and outgoing imaging referrals. You will schedule appointments per policy, verify insurance benefits, and maintain positive relations with referring providers and patients.

The role involves coordinating with third-party systems, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring timely processing of ambulatory visits and radiology services, with a per diem schedule and shift considerations.

Qualifications

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
• Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred

Responsibilities

• Processes inbound and outbound referrals, verifies referrals are correctly ordered according to protocols in the EHR.
• Obtains benefit verification and necessary authorizations prior to patient arrival for all ambulatory visits, procedures, injections and radiology services.
• Reviews real-time eligibility responses to ensure accuracy of insurance eligibility including coordination of benefits.
• Serves as navigator and point of contact for patients and families, advocating with carriers when needed to secure approvals.
• Maintains productivity rates and timeliness of referral and scheduling while meeting queue goals.
• Collaborates with Care Connection Center and responds to provider and staff questions regarding referrals and follow-up status.
