Job summary

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited medical terminology course or equivalent on the job training.
• At least 1 year of progressively responsible work experience related to referral coordination/or patient access.

Responsibilities

• Process referral orders and pre-authorizations for patient access.
• Coordinate appointments and ancillary services for referred patients.
• Respond to patient questions regarding routine billing and insurance matters.
• Coordinate patient instructional/educational activities related to referrals.
• Coordinate purchase or rental of medical equipment as needed for referrals.
• Perform related duties as required.
