Job summary

Manatee Physician Alliance, a part of the Universal Health Services family, is seeking a Referral Specialist to coordinate patient referrals, pre-authorizations, and scheduling with providers and facilities in the Bradenton area. The role emphasizes effective communication with patients, clinics, and hospitals and accurate medical documentation.

Ideal candidates have medical office experience, familiarity with EMR systems, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; medical office assistant training preferred.
• Experience with medical office processes and patient scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Schedule referrals and patient appointments within 24 hours of physician order.
• Pre-authorize and pre-certify tests/procedures with insurance within 48 hours.
• Communicate with patients, clinics, and hospitals; respond politely and promptly.
• Operate EMR and referral tools; maintain accurate documentation.
• Maintain a clean, organized office and manage supplies within budget.
• May travel to other Manatee Physician Alliance locations as needed.
