The Southern Ute Indian Tribe in Ignacio, CO seeks a Referral Coordinator to manage patient referrals for in-house and outsourced services. You will ensure timely processing, update physicians with proper documentation, and coordinate appointments and insurance authorizations.

This role requires a High School diploma, at least two years of admin/clerical experience in a medical setting, proficiency with Word and Excel, and the ability to work with medical terminology.

• Must have knowledge of commonly used medical terminology, medical symbols and abbreviations, names of medical tests, etc.
• Must have advanced computer experience in software programs including Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsabilidades

• Ensure referrals are addressed in a timely manner and physicians updated with accurate documentation in system.
• Set up appointments, maintain insurance authorization, and ensure complete and accurate registration, demographics, and current patient insurance.
• Coordinate and communicate effectively with patients and healthcare providers to facilitate referrals.

Position Summary

Referral Coordinator maintains ongoing tracking of patient referrals for in-house/ outsourced services, ensures that referrals are addressed in a timely manner, keeps physicians updated with accurate documentation in system, sets up appointments, maintains insurance authorization, ensures complete and accurate registration, demographics, and current patient insurance. This position is a grade N9; pay is $21.48/hour.

Education And Experience

• Must have a High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Must have 2 years of administrative/clerical experience.
• Must have work experience in a medical office or similar setting.
• Must have knowledge of commonly used medical terminology, medical symbols and abbreviations, names of medical tests, etc.
• Must have advanced computer experience in software programs including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Must pass a thorough criminal history background check including fingerprints.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous medical experience or medical training.
• Prior experience in patient referral process, including follow-up, scheduling, and prior authorizations.
• Computer experience in electronic health records, RPMS.
• Prior work experience with Native American Indian Tribes.
