Responsibilities
Position Summary

The Referral Management Coordinator ensures high standards of quality and patient experience in line with Concentra's policies, procedures, and regulations. Responsibilities include processing referral requests and authorizations, collaborating with physicians, employers, and payors, with a focus on customer service to positively impact care quality and costs.

This position is remote for Texas residents only. Successful candidates must be willing to travel to a local Concentra office for orientation.

The Details
  • Serve as the first point of escalation for case-related issues requiring guidance
  • Complete daily patient referrals, meeting production targets
  • Review, process, and support specialist referral requests
  • Obtain authorizations and schedule appointments
  • Use appropriate networks and specialists when applicable
  • Provide necessary documentation to payors
  • Communicate with stakeholders, payors, employers, and patients as needed
  • Record information accurately in OA/CR module of OccuSource
  • Build relationships within provider, employer, and payor communities
  • Identify trends in missed captures and communicate opportunities for improvement
  • Handle calls per departmental guidelines
  • Participate in quality assurance activities
Qualifications
Education and Credentials
  • High school diploma or GED; Associate Degree preferred
Experience
  • At least one year of experience in a medical environment (referrals, claims, insurance, billing)
  • Experience with Workers' Compensation is preferred
  • Proficiency with scheduling and insurance verification software

This position is remote for Texas residents only. Candidates must be willing to travel for orientation.
