Job summary

Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center is seeking a detail-oriented Referral Coordinator to support our patient and provider referral workflow in a busy medical office in Baton Rouge. You will process referrals electronically, verify scheduling, and ensure documentation from specialists is uploaded accurately and promptly.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, 2+ years in a medical office, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work independently to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years' experience in a medical office preferred.
• Knowledge of patient registration process highly preferred.
• Must be able to work independently, possess strong organizational and communication skills and to adhere to established goals and deadlines.

Job Description:

SCOPE: To provide the best possible care to our patients by assisting patients and providers with outgoing referrals. Work autonomously with little instruction and be able to handle multiple tasks at the same time. Treat patients with compassion and kindness during every interaction.
