Job summary

Neighborhood Healthcare is seeking a Referrals and Authorizations Clerk to coordinate referrals and follow-up care for clinic patients. You will perform eligibility checks, process referrals, and communicate appointment details to patients, while tracking progress in the EMR and ensuring timely authorizations.

The role emphasizes collaboration with clinical teams, patient advocacy, and adherence to HIPAA and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year patient services/referrals experience in medical office preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Arabic highly preferred.
• Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and medical terminology preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate referrals and follow-up care for clinic patients.
• Perform eligibility checks electronically and/or by telephone.
• Prepare, process, and complete referrals accurately and timely.
• Communicate referral details and appointment information to patients.
• Track referrals in EMR and follow up on authorizations.
