Job summary

CenterWell Senior Primary Care is seeking a Referral and Scheduling Coordinator in the Shreveport area. You will coordinate patient referrals, obtain authorizations, schedule appointments, and ensure seamless communication among patients, providers, specialists, and insurers.

This hybrid role requires strong medical terminology knowledge, experience with EMR, and excellent communication. You will support a patient-centered care coordination workflow and help improve patient experiences.

Qualifications

• Less than 3 years of hands-on healthcare experience in a clinical setting, preferably within the Medicare population.
• Proficient with medical terminology.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records.
• Excellent professional communication abilities, at all levels within the organization and with patients, at all times.
• Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.

This role serves as a subject matter expert for referral and scheduling processes, resolves complex scheduling and authorization issues, supports departmental goals, and provides guidance to team members. The coordinator maintains a high level of accuracy, customer service, and compliance while promoting positive patient experiences and efficient care coordination.

The Referral and Scheduling Coordinator 2 gathers and communicates all relative information and preparation instructions to patient and referring providers. Decisions are typically focus on interpretation of area/department policy and methods for completing assignments. Works within defined parameters to identify work expectations and quality standards, but has some latitude over prioritization/timing, and works under minimal direction. Follows standard policies/practices that allow for some opportunity for interpretation/deviation and/or independent discretion. This position is a hybrid role. You will need to be able to travel to the Shreveport area at least three times a week. The Referral and Scheduling Coordinator 2 gathers and communicates all relative information and preparation instructions to patient and referring providers. Decisions are typically focus on interpretation of area/department policy and methods for completing assignments. Works within defined parameters to identify work expectations and quality standards, but has some latitude over prioritization/timing, and works under minimal direction. Required Qualifications

• This role is considered patient facing and is part of the company's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB
• Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare or Business Administration
• Knowledge of ICD 10 and CPT coding
• Referral experience
• Medical Assistant or Professional State Certifications related to healthcare
• Bilingual in English and Spanish

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$40,000 - $52,300 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
