Job summary
The Floyd Memorial Library in Greenport, NY seeks a Reference Librarian to provide professional reference and information services in person, by phone, and by email. The role includes collection development, cataloging, and supporting the Library of Things while leading innovative programs and community partnerships.
Requires MLS/MLIS and NYS Professional Librarian certification. The position offers a 35-hour workweek with evening/weekend shifts and comprehensive benefits, including health
Qualifications
- MLS or MLIS from an ALA-accredited program.
- Ability to obtain/possess NYS Professional Librarian's Certificate.
Responsibilities
- Provide reference and information services in person, by phone, or email.
- Assist with collection development, weeding, and cataloging of Adult Nonfiction and related formats.
- Help develop and maintain the Library of Things collection.
- Assist with library circulation tasks and technology training.
- Support the Library in becoming a Certified Sustainable Library.
- Develop programs, exhibits, and special projects.
- Coordinate with outside programs and vendors.
- Monitor area statistics and budget; supervise staff and interns as needed.
