Colleton County Memorial Library is recruiting for a Reference Librarian/Adult Services Programmer. The role supports Colleton County Government by delivering reference services, training patrons and staff, and coordinating adult programming at the main library.
Under supervision, the librarian handles Interlibrary Loan, maintains the Reference and SC Room, and guides resource use across the library system. A degree in liberal arts is required and a master’s is preferred.
Colleton County Government is accepting applications from qualified individuals for the position of Reference Librarian/ Adult Services Programmer for Colleton County Memorial Library. The successful candidate will under general supervision plan and conduct reference services throughout the library system. Will provide professional assistance to library patrons who have reference needs and perform a variety of other duties including training staff and patrons in the use of reference and electronic resources, recommending reference materials, maintaining the vertical file, handling the Interlibrary Loan function of the library, and maintaining the Reference and SC Room. Will also plan and coordinate all adult programming for the main library.
GRADE: 9 HOURLY PAY RATE: $18.85 FULL-TIME SC STATE INSURANCE & RETIREMENT
Colleton County Memorial Library
A Bachelor’s degree with concentration in liberal arts and one to three years of public library experience is required (Master’s degree in Librarianship preferred with one to three years of public library experience); or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Pre-employment drug screen and a satisfactory background check are also required.
